For your made to order timber cases and crates we carefully consider the spec of your machinery and equipment for the move method including transportation and storage.

After the design team has gathered this information they then plan the most sustainable, safest and cost-effective method for casing your equipment. The requirements of your equipment tailor how we design your bespoke case, from size and weight to the number of parts, sensitivity, shipping and storing and reusability.

Size and Weight

The cases and crates are built around your product, with custom sizing to effectively and safely move your product. The amount of strapping support needed and the base type used will depend on the weight, for example, if the tool has feet it would be raised off of the ground.

No. of Components

How your product is assembled can be a key indicator to how your bespoke case is designed. If the product can be disassembled into multiple parts, it can be deconstructed to protect each piece in transit. If there are multiple components, a custom foam insert can be built into one case. The design and construction of the product is key to moving and storing securely.

Sensitivity

Various techniques are implemented to protect your sensitive product through transit. The applications change depending on if your equipment is being moved or stored. For sensitive equipment, foam lined cases are used to ensure protection for both sorting and moving. For transporting, a floating base is included to protect your product from shock and vibrations during transit.

Shipping or Storing

The materials we use will depend on the move method. For shipping, plywood would not be used because if any moisture was brought near the crate it would sweat and lose its structural integrity, however, timber casing is as it has the ability to hold water without losing structural integrity. Plywood is used for air freight, as it is lightweight and more cost effective for the client for air freight, while securing their equipment effectively.

Reusable

Your custom designed crates are made to a very high quality for one-time moves or for repeated use. Your case can be reused multiple times by personalising attachment methods to your needs, such as the type of clips and screws used to ensure effective reuse.
