Building on an existing and proven partnership based around machinery relocation, Logos were the logical choice to ensure a safe and on-budget solution from one single point of contact. Logos staff continuously updated Ichor on the status of the packing construction to ensure consistent satisfaction and high customer service throughout the process. Ichor was extremely pleased with the standard of Logos' service and the quality of the end product which met all areas of the detailed packing specification.

Background

Ichor came to Logos to manufacture timber shipping cases to their own crating and packing specification. The equipment was to be shipped in 4 different timber cases, each with a very different specification which included ramp access and a variety of securing and tie-down methods. Attention to detail was critical to ensure that the equipment fit correctly to the bases and was tightly secured to ensure no movement during transit.

Ichor's requirements for the timber crates had to be made to their exact specification with no room for change. This was also the case for the equipment.

Building on an existing and proven partnership based around machinery relocation, Logos were the logical choice to ensure a safe and on-budget solution from one single point of contact.

Solutions In order to meet the performance requirements of the client’s exacting packing specification, Logos invested a lot of time up front to consult with the client to ensure that a clear and acceptable way of working was established before initiating the build. This highlighted the requirement for some revisions to the specification early on in the project and helped to ensure efficiency and minimise any potential impact on the delivery schedule. This up front effort on the part of Ichor and Logos ensured that the cases were built to specification, first and every time. The quality and structural integrity of the cases is essential to ensure that the high value and sensitive contents will endure their worldwide journey to their final destination in perfect condition. The highly specified export cases had custom HDPE modules, custom steel shipping brackets, floating bases and foam lining. Each tool was wrapped in anti-static cling, protective bubble wrap, hermetically sealed in a vapour barrier foil bag and finally placed on to the base and sealed ready for transport. This ensures that dust, moisture, pollen and other pollutants are not able to contaminate the shipment. Logos staff continuously updated Ichor on the status of the packing construction to ensure consistent satisfaction and high customer service throughout the process.
